Arcadia's Legacy dev log 1: Co-op and body parts
This is going to be the dev log for a new game I'm working on: Arcadia's Legacy. It's a top down coop RPG, with a focus on story and a few, hopefully new and fun mechanics.
Now, let me tell you a story. A long long time ago, a very young Eddie (that is me, nice to meet you) was just getting his feet wet into this whole Internet thing. In those days, when I was about 14 or 15 years old or so (I'm 26 now), I was still exploring, still learning things. Well, I used to also try to keep a blog or two, but could never actually keep at it. Fast forward eleven years, to not bore you with the details of what happened between then and now, and here I am attempting it once again.
The difference between me then and me now is understanding the importance of talking to people, keeping a conversation going. You might "sigh" at my supposed revelation, however for an introvert such as myself, this does not come naturally.
The meat of things
Here's what happened so far:
- Tileable textures engine, with a few prototype sets of tiles: dirt, grass, pavement
- networking and coop
- Character with customizeable body parts! - well, so far it's just pants and shoes. Pants! But hey, you can pick the color of the pants. In any case, you will be able to customize quite a few character body parts: pants, shoes, shirt, skin color, facial features, hair style and color, and probably some accessory too.
I'll try to keep these blog entries short, so that I won't feel like it's a chore to write them.
Until next time!
